Can a past debt be removed from your credit report once its paid off?

9月 9th, 2008 by blakevaughan

Technically they shouldn’t delete it if you pay in full but people often use this as leverage with the collectors. What advantage is it to you to have the debt paid if it is still on your report? None. Whether or not it is paid or unpaid it is still a collection on your account and it is only $100, they are certainly not going to sue you for it.

Bottom line. Tell them you will only pay if they delete it. If not it should remain on your credit for 7 years from the date of the delinquency, so that would be 2012.

If the rest of your credit is good this is probably not affecting your score that much.

EDIT: To Studly, who says I was “sort of correct” and then basically stated what I had written in different words, notice I started the post with “technically” that means that they should report it because they have an obligation to report correct info but doesn’t mean they have to. Second, regarding the effect on score, I never implied that this small debt didn’t have the same effect as a large one. The debt is from 05, so its already 3 years old you stated that after 4 years it wouldn’t make much of a difference, correct, but its already been 3. Not the same effect as a collection from 5/08.

If the election happened today, who would you vote for and why?

8月 11th, 2008 by blakevaughan

I will be voting for Ron Paul. He is anti-war, wants to lower taxes for the middle class and poor, voted no against the Patriot Act, voted no against the amendment banning gay marriges. He believes the United States should have a non-intervenionlist forgien policy where we trade and negiote with other countries instead of fighting useless wars where so many innocent people die. He wants to drastically reduce the debt the United States is in and restore our country to the democracy it once was. Finally we have a voice for the people.. one that isn’t backed by corporations and lobbyists.. but by the people.. Ron Paul is a man of his word.. just check his track record.. He knows where he stands on the issues, unlike other canidates whose stances seem to change from week to week.. I truly believe he can boost the morale of this country and restore a democracy for the people not just for the elite…

I’m tired of losing socks and sorting socks. Can anybody help?

8月 10th, 2008 by blakevaughan

Funny question and one that I have asked many times myself until I found a great product that I have been using for years called the “sock clip” which I found at www.nomorelostsocks.com
Having a family of five and with both of us working I often find myself helping with the laundry. Also being over 40 my eyes are not what they used to be so dark blue and black sometimes look the same. But what bothered me the most was losing socks and spending so much time sorting them. This seemed like an endless forever chore so I searched for a solution and after trying several options I found these little foot shaped clips and they work great. One other bit of info that really caught my attention when I found them is that they were made in the United States and that the company that makes them provides work for the developmentally disabled. Now I am stuck on the sock clip, and my socks always stay clipped together, accept for when I am wearing them. :)

how can i learn & speak frequently english. Plz help me. plz…?

1. Watch CNN, Discovery, History channel a lot for correct pronunciation.
2. Watch TV shows, dramas, documentaries and American movies to capture informal English.
3. Listen to good English songs. While listening to it, judge yourself whether you can understand the lyrics. Then compare your ability by reading the lyrics of the songs.
4. Participate in discussion forums (Like Y!A) and chat rooms online.
5. Install Encarta Encyclopedia on your computer and set the shortcut of Encarta Dictionary on your desktop toolbar. Whenever you find a new word, type it in there and check it’s pronunciation, meaning and usages. It’s a very good way to improve your pronunciation.
6. Involve in lots of speaking with English speaking people. Make friends with people who speak English.
7. If someone laughs at your accent or mistakes, do not get disheartened. Rather correct yourself. This way, your mistakes will rapidly decrease and your accent will near perfection.
8. Do not use words which you are not fully familiar with. If you find a new word, follow #5 above.
9. Read interesting books and newspapers.

Okay…those of you who show in Eventing and Hunter/Jumper…what is…?

8月 8th, 2008 by blakevaughan

OK this is a longish answer:

Hunter: Hunters are judged completely on the horse. It consists of over-fence and flat versions.

Over fence, the judge looks the horse’s ability to position his self to the base of the jumps, how free his stride is, how smooth and how much prompting is needed for his flying lead changes, and his style/bascule over the jump. The judge also looks to make sure he is “happy” to be doing his job.

On the flat, the judge looks to see how his natural headset is, how freely he moves, and how “happy” he is and how well he interacts when other horse are around.

Jumpers: Jumper classes are not judged. There is a judge, but only to make sure that the rider/horse don’t do anything illegal (there are rules about crossing-over your previous path and such). The point is to get over the course as fast and cleanly as you can, and the best hose wins.

Eventing: Though it isn’t my forte, I will give it a shot. There is a dressage portion, a cross-country portion, and a show-jumping portion.

Cross-country is a course of solid, “natural” jumps out of the ring that the rider and horse need to maneuver. The are judged by how many faults they have and what their time is.

Show-jumping is exactly like jumpers.

The best score (of all the three events combined), wins.

I could explain equitation if you want, as well.

how have norms and folkways changed over the past decade? .. like in society and teens?

8月 7th, 2008 by blakevaughan

Science has solved allot of medical cures and social myths we thought was politically correct when they were wrong. Like, watching television to close, its a myth that will blind you. The youth of today are doing what they were doing ten years ago, but they are more out there in your face and getting away from it when it was more behind the scene. Ten years ago, they didn’t use so much bad language, open boniness like they do now. Its Morals have been broken, and main actors, singers have promoted sex, drugs and violence more, they make more money from the media than there earnings in some cases. Books,television and media are all released by the government and let loose on the public, so they zoom in on the vulnerable for profit. More money lenders and loan sharks about. All the fun places in the town are put up in the prices for the holiday makers or foreigners. There are more places for people in the trades and crap jobs than years ago, and harder for people to reach higher goals. Morals have been broken so there is little trust between family because of recurring sexual practice. Dont sit on Grandpa’s knee he might be had up for getting accused of poking her with his dick, smacking laws, violent promotions are all upon us, social control has got more in our face, no smoking bans in many counties. Border control. There are more out casts in society with the youth. More Goths, dress code has become indecent. Red carpet people are show it all, they couldn’t get away with that in the past. More separations in families through money and habits . Swearing has become almost normal, one doesn’t feel that shammed by it thanks to singers and television. If I can think of more I will let you know.

Digital SLR.. PLEASE HELP!!?

8月 6th, 2008 by blakevaughan

Photography is a hard career to get into. To many of them think they are good photographers.

Anyway, stick with a DSLR. Remember, the camera will suit your needs for maybe a year, if that, so dont buy the most expensive one out there, especially since your just starting out. A good way to get very good cameras is to buy them used.

I like Canon’s professional models; EOS 1DS Mark III, Mark II, and the 5D, but the others feel too cheap for my standards. Yeah, good image quality, but I dont want to shell out a thousand dollars for something that feels like a toy. That’s why I bought a Nikon.

Nikon’s just feel better. I know, there is somebody contesting that, but for me, it’s true. Their lineup is the Nikon D40, D80, the new D300, and new D3. The D40 is good for beginners. The D80 is an excellent all-around camera. The D300 is for advanced ametures and professionals. The D3 is a professional body. For you, you probabably stick with the D40 or D80.
Now, remember what I said about the camera bodies. Most of your money should be used on a good lens. The lens will outlast the camera by decades. Try not to get the cheapest, or the most expensive; when you’re starting out. Get one in between. For Nikon, I would have to recommend the 50mm 1.8 and/or the 50mm 1.4. The 1.8 is cheaper due to its 1.8 aperture, but still, it’s an excellent lens. The 1.4 is over three times as much, but offers a better low light range. The 50’s are prime lens due to their constant range and aperture. One lens I always recommend is the 85mm 1.4. This is such a great lens. Another would be the 18-200mm VR and the Sigma 50-150mm 2.8. The Sigma offers a constant aperture, unlike the Nikon, but the Nikon will be sharper and have more contrast.

Hope this helps.

I got my scoliosis brace about a month ago. I’m so scared. HELP ME!?

8月 5th, 2008 by blakevaughan

wearing the brace is helping a lot!!
i’d say thats great! and such good results in only one month on top of it.

2 of my three daughters have scoliosis but their curves were not enough for the doctors to have them wear a brace. but im wondering now if that was a mistake.

when they are facing away from me? and i look at them from their back sides i can see the curve on both of them. one has a J curve and her hip is pushing out the the left and the other has an S curve which is not usually very noticable unless she is wearing more tight form fitting clothes. she also complains of a lot of back pain on and off.

as long as they had no severe pain we didnt push the issue of a brace… but on the other hand my next door neighbor has a curve thats so bad she is always leaning to her right side and this is after metal rods have been placed into her spine. she suffers constant pain and only gets relief sleeping on a hard flat surface, the floor to be exact.

so relax and wear your brace all the hours each day you are supposed to. and be aware of any pain in your back and bring that to your drs attention.

I have been diagnosed with a right bundle branch block of the heart, what can I do to reverse this?

8月 4th, 2008 by blakevaughan

There is no way to reverse a bundle branch block. It simply means you have a delay in the electrical conduction to the right ventricle of your heart for some reason. It was not likely caused by medication, you could have been born with an incomplete block and it’s just not been diagnosed until now. You can only detect it on an EKG, it doesn’t make noise like a murmur- so docs can’t hear it when they listen to your heart. To stay healthy, all you have to do is follow the same recommendations as everyone else to lower your risk of cardiovascular problems. That is, eat a low fat diet, maintain a healthy weight, exercise, and lead an overall low stress, sensible lifestyle. You will not “recover” from a bundle branch block. It will likely stay stable, that is, it won’t do anything one way or another, for your entire life. It will need periodic monitoring, a simple EKG once a year is enough to monitor it, just to ensure it doesn’t lead to something else. Even if it does become symptomatic, as long as the heart tissue itself is healthy, it can be handled with a pacemaker. The person to best explain all this to you is your cardiologist or personal physician. You will feel a lot better if you get the scoop from the experts, and then you can ask these questions to a live warm body and get the answers you need in person. I encourage you to do this, although you will be told exactly what I’ve said here- it’s always best to get the advice from the folks with the diplomas to back them.

can i get help balancing this equation?

8月 3rd, 2008 by blakevaughan

C6H12O + Na2Cr2O7 + H2SO4 –> C6H10O + Cr2(SO4)3 + H2O + Na2SO4

C (-10/6) —— -2/6e- ———> C (-8/6)

2 Cr (+6) ———- +6 e- ————> 2 Cr (+3)
_______________

6 C (-10/6) —— -2 e- ———> 6 C (-8/6)

2 Cr (+6) ———- +6 e- ————> 2 Cr (+3)

_______________

18 C (-10/6) ———- -6 e- —————–> 18 C (-8/6)

2 Cr (+6) ———- +6 e- ————> 2 Cr (+3)

________________

3 C6H12O + Na2Cr2O7 + 4 H2SO4 –> 3 C6H10O + Cr2(SO4)3 +7 H2O + Na2SO4

C = 18
H = 44
O = 26
Na = 2
Cr = 2

_______________

1. Determine the elements which change oxiditation state (the oxidizing and reducing agents)

2. Write half-cells to represent the loss and gain of electrons

3. Use appropriate coefficients to balance the electrons lost and gained.

4. Use the ratios obtained in the unbalanced equation to balance the oxidizing and reducing agents.

5. Balance the salts and acids.

6. Balance water.

7. If it won’t balance go back to step 1 and check the the oxidation states and try it again.

____________

Answer: 3 C6H12O + Na2Cr2O7 + 4 H2SO4 –> 3 C6H10O + Cr2(SO4)3 +7 H2O + Na2SO4
